Wi-Fi Analyzer for Macpro

Wi-Fi Analyzer shows your signal, noise and link rate live, and times your router and the internet side by side so you can tell which one is slow. Walk around with it to find where the signal drops. Part of Netutilus Pro.

What it’s for

Wi-Fi Analyzer watches your connection while you use it: signal strength, noise and link rate, plus two delay measurements at once, one to your router and one to the internet. Comparing the two is how it tells a weak Wi-Fi from a struggling provider.

Use it when

  • The connection is worse in some rooms.
  • Calls drop and you don’t know whether to blame the Wi-Fi or the provider.
  • You want to see when your Mac switches from one access point to another.

Reading the result

Under the signal, Latency split times your router and the internet side by side and gives a verdict: healthy, a Wi-Fi problem, or a problem past your router. The Roaming log lists every switch between access points.

What you might see

  • The router is slow as well as the internet. The Wi-Fi is the problem. Move closer to the router, or check the channel in Wi-Fi Networks.
  • The router is fast and the internet is slow. The problem is past your router: the modem, the line or the provider.
  • No network name. macOS hides it from apps without Location access. The signal readings work without it, and Netutilus never reads your location.
  • No verdict while a cable is connected. The measurements then go over the cable, so they say nothing about the Wi-Fi.

Options worth knowing

  • It starts only when you press Start, and a stopped run keeps its results.
  • Export chart (PNG) saves the signal chart.
